Violet

We were married and buried
Unified and lost
We spent it all in the apartment
Where the sun splayed flecks of orange through the broken window
A marriage spent alone, without the world
A marriage to each other’s minds, rather than body
Her lips of salt and sin kept the marriage alive
And natural fumes of desire covered the air in mist

That night, we were one
