Joyce A. Taylor – “When Snow Falls” – A Poem

When Snow Falls

Heavy clouds are banked and full.
There’s a stillness in the air
and a secret softly whispered
abounds most everywhere.

For soon a glistening whiteness
will be filling air and sky;
fluffy snowflakes gently falling
softly, softly drifting by.

The snowbirds will be feeding
as the flakes drift slowly down
and their feathers quickly flutter
while the snow heaps on the ground.

Each tiny little snowflower
in varied shape and size
owns a delicate beauty
when dainty petals crystallize.

Small children’s eyes will widen
as they peek through window panes
to watch the flurries flurry
and the snow mount in the lanes.

The world’s anew and showy
with nature’s beckoned calls
and winter’s wondrous treasure
is revealed when snow falls.
